Erosion measurements made during the period in the Piceance basin of northwestern Colorado are presented in tabular form. Most of the measurements consist of repeated surveys of ground-surface altitudes along monumented transects at 45 hillslope sites and channel sites. The sites were generally resurveyed annually and after significant hydrologic events. Hydrologic monitoring program, Rifle Oil Shale Facility site, Colorado. THREE-DIMENSIONAL MATHEMATICAL MODEL FOR SIMULATING THE HYDROLOGIC SYSTEM IN THE PICEANCE BASIN, COLORADO By 0. James Taylor ABSTRACT The Piceance basin extends over an area of about 1, square miles in north western Colorado and includes the drainage basins of Piceance, Yellow, Roan, and Parachute Creeks.
Abstract Site-specific and regional analysis of time-series hydrologic and geochemical data collected from 15 monitoring wells in the Piceance Basin indicated that a leaking gas well contaminated shallow groundwater with thermogenic methane. The gas well was drilled in and plugged and abandoned in Methane in groundwater from a leaking gas well, Piceance Basin, Colorado, USA. Site-specific and regional analysis of time-series hydrologic and geochemical data collected from 15 monitoring wells in the Piceance Basin indicated that a leaking gas well contaminated shallow groundwater with thermogenic methane. Site-specific and regional analysis of time-series hydrologic and geochemical data collected from 15 monitoring wells in the Piceance Basin indicated that a leaking gas well contaminated shallow groundwater with thermogenic methane. The gas well was drilled in . The Piceance Basin is a northwest-southeast-oriented structure about miles long and 40−50 miles wide (Figure 2). The bedding on the western flank of the basin dips gently to the east, and the bedding on the eastern flank of the basin dips steeply to the west, causing the basin to be asymmetrical and deepest along its eastern edge, where.
Major data were collected and compiled including Fischer assays of oil shale drill cores for the Piceance Basin (created by the USGS Oil Shale Assessment Team), National Hydrography Dataset Plus (NHD Plus), 10 m Digital Elevation Model (DEM) data, geologic maps, subsurface geology, land use dataset, vegetation classification data, stream flow, precipitation, climate, well, ground water level, water use, water rights.
